About:

Possibly one of the most traditional rural Courir de Mardi Gras celebrations in Acadia, the Courir goes through Lejeune Cove from house to house and with the owners’ blessing, the costumed runners are allowed to enter the property and chase chickens and guineas for the communal gumbo. The Courir is steeped in tradition and is one of the more private Mardi Gras affairs as visitors must get permission to spectate from the owners of a home along the route. Ed Lejeune, Iota bar owner, welcomes anyone interested in learning about the tradition.
