Louisiana Fig Cake

About:

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsps. sugar
  • ½ cup oleo (softened)
  • 1 pint fig preserves (cut in small pieces-use syrup also).
  • 1 ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt

Directions:

  • Add egg, sugar, vanilla, and oleo.
  • Stir
  • In a separate bowl, add one pint fig preserves, cut in small pieces. (Use syrup also.), 1 ¼ cup flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, ½ tsp. salt.
  • Add to first bowl, and beat until smooth.
  • Stir well, makes a thick dough.
  • Spread in a buttered and lightly floured pan.
  • Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
