Old-Fashioned Creole Corn Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups yellow corn meal
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup cream-style corn
  • ½ cup bacon drippings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • milk

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together, except milk. Stir well until blended.
  • Add enough milk to make the mixture easy to pour.
  • Spoon into greased muffin tins or greased baking pan.
  • Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
